Dillon and a ten-piece choir: For Foreign Affairs, Dominique Dillon de Byington, born in Brazil, has been working with other voices, introducing them into her hermetic and personal musical universe. This will be Dillon’s only Berlin appearance in 2015 and it promises some visual surprises, too: ”So far, I have consciously stayed behind the lights – for Foreign Affairs, I will step out of the shadows.” When Dillon launched her debut album ”This Silence Kills” on the Berlin label Bpitch Control, critics spoke of her ’chanson pop’ and ’sensuous electronics’, comparing her voice to Feist, Björk and Joanna Newsom. Last year, Dillon released ”The Unknown”, with more abstract lyrics and a stronger and more accentuated focus on her delicate piano-playing. ”This album is an audio- and colouring-book rather than a classic album”, says Dillon.
